Sacramento IHSS Public Authority Education is dedicated to supporting and empowering In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) providers and recipients. While Sacramento County is our focus, classes are open to all active California providers and recipients. The Public Authority endeavors to provide comprehensive education, training, and resources to enhance the quality of in-home care, ensuring that both providers and recipients thrive in their home & working environments.

Mission:

Our mission is to improve the lives of IHSS recipients by offering foundational education and training programs for caregivers. We strive to create a knowledgeable, skilled, and compassionate workforce that can meet the diverse needs of our community.

Services:

  • Training Programs: We offer a variety of training sessions covering essential caregiving skills, including CPR, first aid, and specialized care for individuals with specific needs such as Alzheimers or related dementias.
  • Seminars and Workshops : Our organization hosts seminars and workshops on topics relevant to caregivers and recipients, such as professionalism, effective communication, and navigating the timesheet system (ETS).
  • Care Academy: IHSS Public Authority utilizes Care Academy to provide online training to providers and recipients. Care Academy has over 400 classes relevant to caregiving and aging services.
  • Caregiver Registry: We maintain a registry of trained and qualified caregivers available for hire, helping IHSS recipients find the right match for their needs.
  • Events: We organize various events throughout the year to engage with our community and promote our educational and registry programs. These events include , Registry Connect, specialized training sessions, participation in community outreach, and health and resource fairs.
