Amy Sparkes

Amy Sparkes is a bestselling children's author who works with top publishers including Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Walker, Egmont and Scholastic. She has written over 30 books, including picture books like Ellie's Magic Wellies (as seen on CBeebies) the Pirate Blunderbeard chapter book series, and middle-grade series, The House At The Edge of Magic. Her debut novel and series for adults, The Players: Act 1 - All The World's A Stage is out in May 2025.

She also produces the 'Writing for Children' pages in the bestselling Writing Magazine. She is passionate about helping developing writers and set up the Writing Magazine Children's Book Prize in association with the magazine and her agent, Julia Churchill.

Alongside writing children's books, Amy writes screenplays for film and television. She currently has both an original feature film and an original TV show in development.
