About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

The Young Waikato Women’s Wellbeing Baseline Report presents a community wellbeing baseline for young women and sex/gender diverse people in the Waikato.

This work is being led by YWCA Hamilton General Manager and WWP Manu Taki Riikka Anderson. The project has been co-funded by YWCA, Trust Waikato, WEL Energy Trust and Waikato Wellbeing Project. The work was undertaken by Huber Social, with a focus on communities in Hamilton and the wider Waikato.

As an organisation dedicated to championing the empowerment, leadership, and rights of this community, YWCA Hamilton partnered with Huber Social to measure their holistic needs and lived experiences to develop this baseline. We have supported this work as there is currently a lack of good information and data about gender wellbeing in the Waikato, which relates to SDG 5.

The purpose of this project has been to gather information that we can act upon. Now that the survey is finished, the hard work begins. Findings and insights from this report will guide YWCA’s service strategies and be shared with the broader community to empower decision makers across organisations and at all levels of government to effectively support this community.
