About this event

The future of food manufacturing in New Zealand is set to undergo a transformative evolution, driven by technological innovations, sustainability priorities, and a steadfast commitment to quality. Smart manufacturing will play a critical role, leveraging automation, artificial intelligence, and data analytics to optimise production, boost efficiency, and maintain product consistency. At the same time, sustainable practices will take centre stage, emphasising eco-friendly packaging, waste reduction, and energy efficiency.

With its strong agricultural foundation, New Zealand is uniquely positioned to pioneer innovative food processing and preservation methods, aiming to maximise nutritional value while minimising environmental impacts. As consumer preferences shift toward healthier, locally sourced, and sustainably produced options, the food manufacturing sector is expected to embrace novel ingredients, cutting-edge production techniques, and advanced supply chain strategies.

The New Zealand Food Innovation Network plays a key role in this transformation, supporting food and beverage companies to achieve growth, development, and export success. The Network offers advice, expertise, and access to purpose-built facilities, including a state-of-the-art product development centre at Lincoln University near Christchurch. This facility features five independent, food-safe processing spaces equipped to handle a diverse range of products, including extrusion, UHT, snack foods, sauces, powders, beverages, and plant-based innovations.

Join us to hear directly from the New Zealand Food Innovation Network about their vision for the future of food manufacturing in New Zealand. Discover how they are helping ensure the country remains a global leader in sustainable and forward-thinking food production for years to come.
