We’re inviting the sector for a face-to-face kōrero with Creative New Zealand to provide feedback on our response to A Profile of Creative Professionals, the research seeking to better understand career sustainability in the arts and creative industries.
Last year Creative New Zealand and NZ On Air engaged research company Colmar Brunton to survey a range of creative professionals and we published the research earlier this year.
Our two agencies have identified three joint priorities for future action:
1. Fair reward
2. Sustainability
3. Emerging creative professionals
We’ve also developed six draft principles that we believe could contribute to sustainable careers for artists and arts practitioners. We’re inviting your feedback in person on whether we’ve got the principles right and what actions would be required to promote or embed them.
As part of our ongoing engagement to address the findings, we’d like to hear your thoughts on the research and potential next steps in this area.
