Do you want to go more in depth with your knowledge capability in Responsiveness to Māori within your research? This seminar explores application of the main Treaty concepts (voluntary, mutually beneficial decision-making relationships) to the major stages of research (choosing the topic, literature review, research design, collecting information, analysis, and dissemination).

This seminar is right for you if:

1) You have attended Making Sense of the Treaty of Waitangi in a Research Context on the 25th of September 2023 (recommended but not obligatory).

2) You have confidence in the foundations of your Treaty knowledge as it applies to research, and eager to deepen your understanding and how to apply it. Those without any experiences in the study of the Treaty of Waitangi should consult these resources before attending: https://teara.govt.nz/en/te-tiriti-o-waitangi-the-treaty-of-waitangi

Join us for this informative session presented by Christine Herzog who has facilitated more than a thousand Treaty and related workshops, for central and local government departments and other large institutions, for community groups, and for the general public. She has also undertaken consultancy and research relating to application of the Treaty in organisations. She was a founding member of Auckland Project Waitangi and continues to be active in Tamaki Treaty Workers. Christine supported Ngāti Tamaoho Trust, a Waiohua hapu, through eight years of their Treaty claims negotiations and is now kaiwhakahaere of Te Tai-awa o te Ora Trust, a kaupapa Māori social services organisation based in south Auckland.
