Overview:

Deepen your understanding of wheelchair seating with The Blueprint: Foundations for Successful Wheelchair Seating. Gain the essential skills and confidence needed to achieve excellent clinical outcomes in wheelchair seating.

The Blueprint is Medifab’s foundational half-day workshop, designed to equip early-career clinicians and those with limited experience in assessing and prescribing wheelchair seating in the community.

This interactive session provides a strong knowledge base in seating assessment and intervention, helping you build the expertise needed to support your clients effectively.

Learning objectives:

Upon completion of this half-day workshop, you will:

  1. Explain foundational wheelchair seating principles
  2. Measure body dimensions and relate them to wheelchair base sizes
  3. Evaluate and understand pressure care management strategies
  4. Differentiate between reducible and non-reducible postural presentations and determine appropriate management strategies
  5. Apply clinical approaches to manage postural presentations

Note:

This workshop is designed for students, new graduates and practising clinicians new to wheelchair seating assessment and prescription.

If you are unsure whether this workshop aligns with your personal learning objectives, please contact the Medifab clinical education team.
