Frequently asked questions

Where will the Object Book Fair be taking place?

The Object Book Fair will take over the whole of Objectspace’s gallery at 13 Rose Road, Ponsonby.

How will customers pay?

You will need to organise your own payment methods. Make sure to have change ready if needed, and clear signage with your bank details if using bank transfer. If you are offering up to 3 titles via the community table, these sales will be processed by our gallery staff.

What will my stall look like?

Objectspace will provide trestle tables and chairs for all stall holders. Stall placements will be allocated by Objectspace. The full tables are around 2m long and .5m wide so keep that in mind when planning out your display - you're welcome to personalise your stall.

Do I need to be at the Object Book Fair the entire time?

Someone will need to be looking after your stall for the duration of the Object Book Fair – 11am to 4pm on both Sat 14 & Sun 15 June, outside of leaving briefly for the wharepaku or a coffee top up. If you have someone to cover the stall while you take a break, that's great.

Can I store my books at Objectspace between market days?

Yes, you can leave books on your stall overnight.

Is there parking available at Objectspace?

The Objectspace courtyard will be closed for parking during the Object Book Fair, however, we are providing time slots for packing-in and out where the carpark will be available. There is plenty of parking available along Rose Road and surrounding streets that is free on weekends

Should I bring food and drinks?

We will have coffee, tea, water, etc and are hoping our friends at Daily Bread will have a stall on site (we'll let you know if this goes ahead), otherwise we’d suggest bringing lunch. There are plenty of food spots nearby if you need to pop out - just make sure someone is looking after your stall.

I’m only available for 1 of the 2 days, can I still participate?

If you can find someone to fill your space on the other day, sure thing! Or, you can submit up to 3 titles for our gallery staff to sell via our community table. Contact Objectspace Bookstore Manager Becky Richards at becky@objectspace.org.nz to submit your titles to the shared table.

I can’t be there in person, can I still sell my books?

Yes, we will have a community table managed by the Objectspace team. You can submit up to 3 titles for our staff to sell via the community table. Objectspace will take a 40% commission on all books sold via the community table. Get in touch with Bookstore Manager Becky Richards at becky@objectspace.

What else is happening around the Object Book Fair?

The Object Book Fair will take place at Objectspace as part of Object Book Space. This programme also includes: an International Guest Ockham Lecture from 6pm on Thur12 June, Object Book Talks – a full-day symposium on design and publishing on Friday 13 June & Object Book Workshops – TBC Sat & Sun.
