The Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust is offering an exciting experience for children aged 8 to 16 years to get outdoors and engage with the environment. We are providing 3 full days of activities, including transportation from 8 First Avenue, Whangārei, for up to 20 children each day. The activities will focus on helping tamariki learn about the environment (Taiao) firsthand, understand its significance, and discover ways to protect it—from the mountains to the sea.
Over these 3 days, activities will include a mixture of marine snorkelling experiences, a Kayak skills course, fresh water investigations and a crafting session. Tamariki will learn about coastal biodiversity, the wildlife that inhabits the fresh and marine environments, conservation initiatives, snorkelling skills such as duck diving and Kayaking skills.
A low/medium level of fitness is required for these days, but we try to accommodate all fitness types.
These events have been subsidized thanks to our Wai Connection Project, funded by the Ministry For the Environment.

Experiencing Marine Reserves runs a series of free and subsidised events throughout the year - we rely on your support to make them happen. We appreciate donations, either cash/eftpos on the day, online or by giving a koha of your time volunteering at a future event.
If you are unwell or isolating, please do not attend this event.
