A site visit to the Knight Built factory in Wigram will give us our first Canterbury Passive House Public House look at Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) as well as other products in the Kingspan Range.
Many people will be particularly interested in Stieco wood fibre insulation.
Knightbuilt import two SIP panels from Kingspan;
- 142mm thick with an insulation R rating of 5.1
- 172mm thick with an insulation R rating of 6.4.
The Kingspan TEK® panels are a Passive House Institute Certified Building Component.
Come and take a guided tour through the factory with Ian Hay-Smith and Darren Hammond and learn about SIPs as a building material for Passive House Projects.
Following the tour there will be presentations on further products in the Kingspan range. Come and take a look with Ian Day of Today’s Building Solutions at their range of Kingspan Insulation products including Steico wood fibre.
Come and chat with Candice Smith, who is Kingspan National Specification Manager, here in Aotearoa New Zealand.
For those that are not aware Kingspan is a giant in the building products world, with a 2024 revenue of 8.6bn Euros with 22,000 staff in 80 countries worldwide. Themakraft might be another product name familiar to many from the Kingspan stable.
This is a great opportunity to take a look at a wide range of building products from an international industry leader, all under one (hopefully insulated) roof!
Drinks and nibbles provided with networking.
