David Moreland Design was established in 2009 by founder David Moreland. He set up the eponymous brand after gaining invaluable experience and insight from working for two of New Zealand’s leading design brands, David Trubridge and Simon James. In 2014, David Moreland started a role as Città’s Head of Furniture and Product Design. In 2020, a partnership between DMD and Città was announced—making David’s iconic designs available to view at Città’s store locations across the New Zealand.
Emma Kaniuk is a creative director and designer who works world-wide on projects spanning the fields of publishing, art, biotech, finance, short films and social change, amongst others.
Eva Charlton is a graphic designer based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland who specialises in design for the arts and culture sector. She currently works at design studio Extended Whānau and on independent projects, collaborating with artists, curators, and writers. Recent projects include the publications Rewi: Ata Haere, Kia Tere and Ana Iti: What is that Salty Voice? and the rebrand of Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery in Whanganui. Eva previously worked as Graphic Designer for The Dowse Art Museum in Te Awakairangi Lower Hutt and holds a Bachelor of Design from Auckland University of Technology.
Lindsay Yee (余杰峰) is a graphic designer based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. Born and raised in Ōtautahi Christchurch, he studied visual communications at CPIT and moved to Tāmaki in 2010. His parents originate from Oamaru and Guangzhou (廣州). Yee works as a designer in studios and agencies in Tāmaki, with work in brand identity design. With his own practice, Yee focuses on arts and culture, specifically exploring representation of Chinese people in Aotearoa. He has worked with organisations within the fine arts, theatre, film, music and design.
Phoebe Devine is a Partner and Head of Design at Previously Unavailable, leading a highly creative team who collaborate with all parts of the studio portfolio — from venture and early stage start-ups, established businesses wanting to reinvent, and new product development for a range of clients. Phoebe has been fortunate enough in her career to work at top design companies Red Antler in New York and Alt Group here in Tāmaki Makaurau. She has contributed her time at AUT as a tutor and mentor for undergrad students, and has been selected as a judge locally and internationally (DINZ Best Design Awards, the AGDA Awards, the ADC Young Guns Awards and Spikes Asia). Phoebe is also a Co-Founder of New + Improved Ventures and is on the Investment Committee for Brand Fund 2 with Icehouse Ventures.
After nearly 20 years working in Tāmaki Makaura’s graphic design industry, Tristan O’Shannessey has played a role in the development of some of Aotearoa’s most iconic brands, received multiple awards both here and overseas, and had his work featured in numerous design blogs, forums, and books around the globe. For the past ten years, Tristan has worked with Ryan Marx (Founder/Executive Creative Director) at Marx Design, helping grow the studio from a small team in a windowless office in Birkenhead to one of New Zealand’s most respected brand agencies. Known for its progressive and conceptual approach to design, with a strong reputation in packaging design and a growing international client base… still working in Birkenhead, but now with windows. He is a PDINZ member, actively involved in the local design community, and has judged award programs in both Aotearoa and Australia. Tristan is also co-creative director, alongside his wife Yuka, at Public Record, a gallery and retail experience in Ponsonby, Auckland, supporting regular shows featuring artists and makers from around the world, with a particular focus on Aotearoa and Japan.
