Join us for a day kayaking the Manukau Harbour and exploring local awa with activities and prizes! Connect with local community groups to see what's happening to conserve our taiao and get involved.
Hear about the importance of waterway protection and observe nature and local wildlife on display. You will be guided through large mature mangroves and down a tidal channel where Harania Stream empties into the estuary. We will also be running activities on land, including a freshwater monitoring workshop and local community group stalls to fully immerse yourself in connecting with te taiao. Fun for the whole whānau!
Registrations are essential. Only 40 kayaking spots are available. Please only register for the kayaking if you can commit to the full 4 hour timeslot: expect to spend 1.5hrs kayaking and 45mins for each of the workshops.
Tickets are also available for landbased activities only, if you want to join in the festivities without getting on the water, or have young whānau.
This event is funded by the Ministry for the Environment’s Wai Connection Project, and presented alongside Auckland Sea Kayaks, Māngere East Family Services, and Te Ara-rata Stream Team.
Registrations will be open to locals first, early access codes for people in the Harania area will be circulated to local pages or email anastasia@mountainstosea.org.nz to access (please reference the suburb you live in). Otherwise all remaining tickets will go live on 3rd March.

Cancellation Policy:
You will be emailed a reminder 7 days prior to the event to confirm your attendance. If you are no longer able to attend please cancel your ticket so it may be used by other attendees. If you are unwell or isolating please do not attend this event.
We require cancellation at least 48 hours before the start of the event in case you are no longer able to attend the event. The Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust - Experiencing Marine Reserves programme reserves the right to charge a $20pp fee for any 'no shows or last minute cancellations' for events requiring bookings that are free such as this Snorkel/Kayak Day. This is because late cancellations or 'no shows' affect our ability to offer free events like this in the future!
Mountains to Sea Conservation Trust runs a series of free and subsidised events throughout the year - we rely on your support to make them happen. We appreciate donations, either cash/eftpos on the day, online or by giving a koha of your time volunteering at a future event.
