What are the benefits of forest bathing?

Many of us instinctively know that time in nature is good for us. A growing body of research suggests that spending time in nature can deliver a range of health benefits. These include boosting immunity, reducing stress hormone and blood pressure levels, and improving mood and cognition. A guided forest bathing session can help you to tap into these health benefits. It also offers space for self-reflection and can lead to new insights, perspective and understanding.

Who is forest bathing suitable for?

Anyone is welcome! This is more of a wander than a walk and you won't be covering a lot of distance or climbing hills, so it is suitable for people of any fitness level. Please feel free to get in touch before you register, if you would like to discuss your particular circumstances.

Younger children may find a public walk a bit challenging, due to the duration and slow pace. If you would like to experience forest bathing with your children, we recommend booking a private walk so we can tailor the experience to make it more enjoyable for them!

Frequently asked questions

What should I wear and bring?

Wear clothing that you feel comfortable in and flat shoes, such as sneakers or sandals. Bring a bottle of water, sunhat, sunscreen, wet weather gear and additional warm layers. You may wish to bring a small daypack or bag to carry these items in so that you can keep your hands free while exploring!

What will happen if the weather is bad?

Walks will usually go ahead rain or shine (or wind). However, if severe weather conditions are forecast or conditions at the location have become hazardous, your guide will cancel the walk. Where possible, you will be contacted the day before your scheduled walk time.
