Felix will introduce the day and host a presentation about his work and approach to Urban Sketching.

Gordon Harris store visit


Head over the the store to get Felix's recommendations on his favourite products to use for Urban Sketching and why.

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Sketch walk begins


Felix will lead the group outdoors to embark on a sketch walk around the area, assisting attendees in their work.

12:30 PM - 1:30 PM

Lunch


Break for lunch or continue your sketches at your leisure! Either bring your own packed lunch or take advantage of the wonderful cafe's and restaurants in the local area.

Tips, tricks and wrap up


Head back to the auditorium to finish off your sketches and get some final tips and tricks from Felix.

Come join us for a fun and creative day of urban sketching with renowned artist Felix Scheinberger! This in-person event will take place at the Ara Institute of Canterbury. Learn valuable tips and tricks from Felix, and then put your skills to the test on a sketch walk around the beautiful surroundings. The ticket price of $20 (excluding booking fee) will be redeemable in-store on the day for a purchase, just show your Eventbrite ticket at the counter! No refunds are given for purchases less than $20 in value.

Where in the Ara Institute is the event held?

The event will meet at the DLEC theatre which is beside the Design & Art Department of Ara/Te Pukenga. Please see the image attached to the event for a map with directions from the Gordon Harris store.

Where is the best place to park?

Visitor parking at Ara is free on the weekends. There are several carparks – Barbadoes Street, corner Ferry Rd and Barbadoes, Madras Street.

How do I redeem my ticket for in-store purchases?

Show your Eventbrite ticket in-store on the day of the event and receive $20* off a purchase! We have a range of Felix's recommended Urban Sketching products available on the day from Staedtler, Hahnemühle, Schmincke and da Vinci. Each ticket is valid for one transaction. *$20 excludes booking fee

What food options will be available?

There will be a lunchbreak during the day. Lunch will not be provided, so please ensure you bring a packed lunch or you can buy lunch at the local cafe's in the area.

Can I bring my own food?

Yes, bringing your own packed lunch is encouraged.

What is your refund policy?

All ticket sales are final, there are no refunds offered on tickets.

Can I bring children to the event?

Unticketed children are not permitted at the event as the seating space in the theatres are limited to the ticket numbers.

Is the location wheelchair accessible?

Yes, the Ara Institute is wheelchair accessible and the Gordon Harris Christchurch store is wheelchair accessible via a lift in the back dock/goods entrance.
