As we move through life, the songs we love anchor us to times and places. They welcome us to new homes, and remind us of where we came from. Our songs talk to us of the past and the people who came before, inviting a feeling of shared history and experience.

Both Austin and Emily have left New Zealand and lived overseas. Emily has made America her home - while Austin has returned to live in Aotearoa but still connects with and travels to other countries that have become homes away from home. In this afternoon concert they share some of the songs that have been deeply meaningful on their journeys away from and back to "home".

. The Thomas Brown Gallery, with its warm embrace of classical music, is a special place to the artists and performers who come from around the world to perform there. It's always been more than just a venue - it feels like home too. We look forward to sharing that home with you for a very special concert.
