About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Join us as the Minister of Education sets out the reasons for recently announced changes, her priorities for the education system, and what she is hearing from schools and parents.

The Minister of Education recently announced the updated timeline and requirements for the implementation and assessment of The National Curriculum from Term 1, 2025 for Years 0-8.

The level of detail provided in the revised curriculum is intentionally designed to support teachers with this change by making it clear what the essential progressions are to support students to master the knowledge, skills, and competencies in each learning area.

Embedding a curriculum refresh, providing access to professional development, and responding to feedback from schools, parents, and boards will be priorities for the Minister and Ministry in 2025 and 2026.

As a board member, this session is aimed to provide you with insights from the Minister of Education herself on what the changes are, why they are being progressed at pace, and what your school can expect in support and resources.
