About this event

The ultimate starting point for brave leaders, courageous cultures and organisational change.

"Highly recommend."

"Inspiring."

"An amazing experience."

"One 'aha moment' after the other."

Educators face constant change, massive pressure, and competing demands from kids, parents, administrators and government.

Hundreds of principals and teachers have turned to the 3-day Dare to Lead™ programme to help them navigate these challenges.

Now, we’re offering a 1-day Dare to Lead™ workshop — specifically for educators — to give you tools to deal with whatever may arise.

Founded on the research of Dr. Brené Brown, Dare to Lead™ is an empirically based courage-building programme, delivered by Boma CEO and Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator Kaila Colbin.

Brené has spent two decades studying shame and more than seven years specifically looking at leadership. During her research, she interviewed leaders from all over the world and asked one question: what is the future of leadership?

Their answers pointed to one thing: courage.

So how do we get more courage?

The most significant finding from Brené’s latest research, and the foundation of Dare to Lead™, is that courage is a collection of four skill sets that are teachable, measurable, and observable.

In this 1-day Dare to Lead™ workshop, educators will learn to:

  • Navigate vulnerability skilfully and appropriately, creating an environment where open communication can flourish
  • Turn shared values into actionable behaviours that support a cohesive and aligned school culture
  • Build a foundation of trust with colleagues, fostering collaboration and mutual respect
  • Develop resilience to navigate and support each other through challenges and setbacks

This workshop is essential for educators and school leaders who want to:

  • Approach difficult conversations with confidence, empathy, and clarity
  • Reduce unproductive behaviours and encourage constructive interactions
  • Promote creativity, adaptability, and innovative problem-solving within teams
  • Build resilience and enhance alignment in the face of evolving demands in education
  • Foster a culture of accountability, belonging, and trust within staff and faculty teams

This experience is for you if:

  • You’re an educator or school leader committed to making a meaningful impact
  • Your education environment is experiencing significant and constant change
  • You struggle with the competing demands that come from all sides in the education space
  • You want to be innovative and creative but feel like you keep hitting roadblocks

For educators ready to lead with courage and build a supportive and resilient school culture, this 1-day Dare to Lead™ workshop provides insights and tools to make it happen.
