What is Healthy Hospo?
Hospitality is a vibrant, fast-paced and creative industry. Unfortunately however, the industry also faces many challenges around the health and well-being.
Nor is it easy to access the well-being resources and support readily available in other industries & large corporate companies.
Lion brought Healthy Hospo to New Zealand in 2020, and since then we have been striving to embed health and wellbeing into the fabric of hospitality in New Zealand.
Healthy Hospo NZ partners experts to run workshops and events centred around the following 6 pillars of well-being:
Sleep, Nutrition, Mental Fitness, Exercise, Connection and Leadership.
We are working hard to provide our hospitality industry with resources to empower managers and staff to be happier and healthier. We’d like to invite you to be part of the journey by joining this workshop!
Mental Health 101
With our capacity being stretched seemingly more than ever, having the right tools in the toolkit to tackle these situations is crucial. This workshop is designed to provide a better understanding of our mental wellbeing, and explore what might be contributing to situations where we aren't thriving or feeling like our best selves. An array of tools and solutions will be discussed to help outline what can work to improve your mental wellbeing. Everyone's' situation is different, but a good foundation of skills will set you right for the future and go about your mental wellbeing with confidence.
This workshop is free for anyone in hospitality to attend and capped at 30 attendees.
The Facilitator
Like many New Zealanders, Danny Rood is someone who struggles with his mental health. Learning to manage his depression and anxiety, he has developed an array of skills and tools to keep on top of things as best he can. He is now entering his fourth year running workshops on mental health, which are practical, personable, and carried out in a safe environment. You are most likely to find Danny trying to slow down, either by being outside in the natural world, reading, or just sitting still with a cup of tea.
