Welcome to the 6th Annual Challenge the Horizon Pacific Research Symposium. The theme for 2024 is 'Ko Te Tangata - For the People'.

This symposium is an annual event that showcases Pacific research, researchers and research excellence at the University of Waikato. The topics are current, crosscutting and multidisciplinary, addressing crucial issues for Pacific Island communities in Aotearoa and across the Pacific region.

Join us 'in-person' or watch 'online' for an afternoon of insightful presentations and meaningful discussions, contributing to the growth and development of Pacific research excellence at the University of Waikato.

The closest car parks to the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts are at Gate One or Gate 2B, Knighton Road, Hillcrest. Please visit the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts website for more information. Note: free parking is only available on campus after 4.30pm.

Can I watch the Pacific Research Symposium online?

The Pacific Research Symposium can be viewed in-person and / or watched online via a YouTube channel. Please note that the YouTube channel url will be provided at a later date and will be included in a reminder email. So please register to ensure you recieve the email.

Will there be an opportunity to ask each presenter a question about their research?
