About this event

  • Event lasts 7 hours 30 minutes

The Carosika Collaborative Taonga Tuku Iho invites you to a one day educational event about preterm birth and updating your practice

The event will be delivered through plenary sessions and workshops that will cover many aspects of pregnancy care for spontaneous and provider initiated preterm birth.

Topics and workshops will include:

  • The power of manaakitanga to improve preterm birth care
  • Care that engages Whānau
  • Care and outcomes for Pēpi born at the limits of survival in Aotearoa
  • Care for people with a short cervix
  • Bridging the gap - learning from Whānau
  • Carosika Community of Practice for high risk spontaneous preterm birth care

Morning Tea, Lunch and Afternoon Tea will be provided.

The Carosika Collaborative was established in 2020 following a national stakeholder hui and agreement to work together as a community with a shared purpose to co-ordinate intiatives and champion change that leads to a reduction in preterm birth, improved preparation for preterm birth and equitable outcomes for all pēpi that are born preterm in Aotearoa. One of our key activities is to provide evidence-based education. Check out our website to learn more about our journey!
